But the benefits aren’t all about the money — in addition to tax and job opportunities in Alberta, the province offers “more sun, more nature, richer experiences.”
Calgary is the sunniest place in Canada, averaging more than 300 sunny days a year, according to the province.
3. New Brunswick
As one of Atlantic Canada’s top vacation destinations, the region is now asking newcomers to stay.
Perks include mountains and rivers, beaches with the highest tides in the world, and world-class performance venues, among other things.
In particular, the province is attracting young people and students who may want to “find a sense of belonging” and “seek to put down roots.”
It says there are opportunities for New Brunswickers to feel connected to nature, culture and community, and plans a series of events to encourage newcomers to explore the region for themselves.
4. Newfoundland and Labrador
Newfoundland and Labrador has launched a campaign to encourage newcomers to move there amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Perks of the region include clean air, rich heritage, natural beauty and an affordable real estate market with a wide range of options in both rural and urban areas.
The locals are welcoming, so it doesn’t take long for newcomers to feel at home and warm there. Plus, the area offers a variety of arts, cultural, and culinary events for like-minded individuals, no matter what your passions are.
5. British Columbia
From Whistler to Vancouver to the Canadian Rockies and everywhere in between, British Columbia is sure to have no shortage of iconic sights to explore.
The province also wants people to consider moving there permanently.
